St Brigid is associated with a seemingly unlikely array of ancient life, overseeing poetry, blacksmithing, livestock, healing and nurturing. For me she signifies safety and hope and her story from ancient goddess to Christian saint carries a cultural through line. She has many legends but one of my favourite is that she could hang her cloak on a beam of sunlight!
